Shebbear Community school is a small, lovely, rural, village school - set in the very heart of the community - that values standards and achievement. We aim to enrich the learning of each and every child that comes into our school and to give them a stable foundation to prepare them for their journey through life. 

We are extremely proud of all that goes on here at our busy school, in all of the curriculum areas and, as our website demonstrates, the children at Shebbear Community School are ably supported by a team of dedicated staff and governors and committed parents.

What you can't learn from this website...

Is the very special atmosphere of Shebbear Community School.  Every visitor who comes to our school remarks on the 'lovely feel' that the school has.  The children are happy and ther is an ambience of warmth and friendliness that purvey the corridors of the building - reflecting the very ethos of the school.

We are also proud to have the Little Bears Pre-School situated within our grounds.  This is independently run for children of pre-school age and we work closely with them to ensure the transition from Pre-School to full-time education is a positive time in your child's life.  They provide a high quality introduction to your child's education, as their last OfSTED Inspection Report will confirm, within recently refurbished surroundings.
